Midway Gardens (1913-1914) was an entertainment complex on Chicago's South side, an extraordinary achievement of Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright supervised all of the cast concrete elements he called "Sprites."
When we arrived home the sprite was waiting on the front porch. My wife was absolutely thrilled! She had seen them in books and in person at the Biltmore Hotel in Scottsdale, but never would have bought one herself. I thought it would go outside, in the pool area, but it now occupies a position of honor in our front hallway. I wish to thank you for whatever strings you had to pull to make this happen. I went up quite a few points on the husband scale for this one.
